Reflections is a collection of works ranging from my earlier days of blotted line illustrations and "bubbles" paintings to my most current pieces of the two. There is a Japanese idiom 一期一会 (ichigo ichie), which means "one time, one meeting" or in other words "once in a lifetime". This show is a reflection of all the ichigo ichie I have had over the years that had either inspired me to create these pieces, allowed me to have such chanced meetings with other people, or the special encounters/relations I have had with the pieces when painting them.
I want to thank you for this opportunity, allowing me to share with you this ichigo ichie. I also hope that I was able to convey "beauty in gentleness” through my artwork, bringing a bit of balance to our hectic modern day lives.
